As Nigeria marks Democracy Day today June 12, prominent political figure and founder of the Egbe Atunluse Initiatives, Otunba Akin Akinbobola, has extended warm greetings to the government and people of Nigeria, commending the nation's commitment to democratic ideals and national unity.
In his goodwill message, Otunba Akinbobola stated that Democracy Day is a reminder of the sacrifices made by courageous Nigerians who laid down their lives and comforts in the pursuit of freedom, justice, and people-centered governance.
“June 12 is more than a date—it is a profound symbol of our national resilience. It reminds us of where we’ve come from and inspires hope for where we can go. Democracy is not just about elections; it is about building systems of fairness, accountability, and opportunity for all. Let us reflect on the journey so far and renew our commitment to making Nigeria a beacon of hope and progress. Together, we can make democracy meaningful by translating its ideals into real change in the lives of our people,” he stated.
He urged leaders at all levels to uphold the principles of good governance and work collectively to build a nation where every citizen has a voice and every community has access to opportunity and development.
